Hanover is the home town of the CinemaxX chain. The CinemaxX Hanover Nikolaistraße was the first multiplex cinema of the CinemaxX founder Hans-Joachim Flebbe. On March 6, 1991 the multiplex cinema opened located between the telecommunication tower and the Anzeiger-Hochhaus. The 10 halls with their 183 to 738 seats have a capacity for 3.221 visitors.
